Brother USA hired Art & Logic to develop a T-shirt design and layout application for use with their GT-541 digital garment printer. A key piece of the project was an extensive library of licensed images assembled by Brother. Art & Logic implemented a digital rights management system for the project to ensure the image licensors that each garment printed with a licensed image could be accounted for, and would result in payment to the licensor. more...

Beat Kangz Electronics hired Art & Logic to create the firmware for the Beat Thang, a new groovebox aimed at the hip hop market. The project also includes a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) plugin for Mac OS X and Windows called the Beat Thang Virtual. It is available at Sam Ash, Guitar Center, and online.

Art & Logic worked with York Zimmerman to design and implement People Power, a cross-platform game that is intended to teach the principles of non-violent resistance to participants in social movements. Based on principles and a mathematical model that were derived from the Serbian overthrow of Slobodan Milosevic, as well as study of other similar historical struggles, a graphically appealing game was designed that supports the modeling of conflict and resolution. more...

Digital Power Station for Windows is a system-wide utility that enriches the audio quality of any music or movie being played on your computer. ExonHit Therapeutics, Inc., a world-leading company in the field of alternative RNA splicing, hired Art & Logic to extend the capabilities of their in-house gene profiling tool. Originally developed as an Excel spreadsheet, the tool had reached the performance and data limits of the technology. Art & Logic developed a VB.NET application, using an MSDE backend, to replace and enhance the functionality of ExonHit's tool. It was ExonHit's desire to continue long term maintenance of the new tool, so Art & Logic included extensive commenting and documentation to provide ExonHit's in-house developers with the information needed to maintain and enhance the application without further assistance from Art & Logic. more...
Antares Audio Technologies hired Art & Logic to bring their world standard Auto-Tune 3 professional intonation correcting plugin onto the Microsoft Windows platform. Art & Logic enhanced the original codebase by adding DirectX envelope automation, improving the user interface, and updating the architecture to exploit the audio capabilities unique to Microsoft Windows. Art & Logic worked closely with PACE to ensure that InterLok copy protection was integrated into the final product. Global Nuclear Fuel (GNF), a joint venture of GE, Hitachi and Toshiba, designs and manufactures fuel for commercial nuclear power plants. In an effort to maintain and improve the quality and design of its product, GNF periodically inspects fuel bundles after they have been in service. The data collected from these inspections is analyzed and used to make improvements to their manufacturing processes. Lightbox Network, Inc. hired Art & Logic to develop a Windows version of its media manager application. The software allows photographers to do "live" shoots with a tethered camera, such that images and movies can be processed and uploaded to the Lightbox server as the shoot is happening. Editors can then see virtually real-time progress of the shoot online and interact by requesting larger versions of the captured media and beginning work on the post process. Images and video can also be manually uploaded, and all uploads are managed via an upload manager.

Font Diner had a set of scripts for Adobe Photoshop to apply image distressing affects to an image. They wanted a faster, more powerful way to do these affects while protecting their original images and maintaining cross-platform support. Art & Logic delivered the plug-in on Windows XP, Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X (PowerPC and Intel), and updates when, new at the time, Photoshop CS3 was released. The plug-in was faster and more powerful than the original scripts, had a unique interface, and kept the client's proprietary data secure.

MedID Technologies hired Art & Logic to develop a personal medical documents system that runs on a USB flash drive (kind of like a smart Medicalert bracelet). The user plugs it into a Mac or Windows computer and securely edits a variety of medical data, or shows it to their health care professional.

Topplestone, LLC hired Art & Logic to create Wedding Cake Design Pro®, a Windows desktop application that allows users to create custom wedding cake designs. Brides-to-be can choose from hundreds of design elements to create realistic three dimensional designs, print the results, and give the design to their local bake shop for a truly unique and personalized wedding cake.
Art & Logic developed a Windows application that interfaces to Krautkramer Branson's proprietary ultrasonic test hardware. The software package provides high speed analog and digital data acquisition, automatic flaw detection and measurement, pass/fail indications, and a sophisticated real-time data display. The package can be configured for a variety of manufacturing applications including aircraft turbine blades, ERW pipe, and diesel pistons.

E-MU Systems hired Art & Logic to implement two dialogs for their new software sampler. The dialogs went beyond simply picking files and allowed users to manually or automatically create regions, lay out the samples or regions on the keyboard, and preview their work. This project had Art & Logic tightly integrating into E-MU's development environment using a VPN for direct access to their CVS archives while working directly with E-MU engineers on common code. Art & Logic created both Windows and Mac OS versions of "NeonCAD". Users can design arbitrarily complex neon signs using the CAD tools provided, and animate those signs using the client's proprietary neon control technology that allows light to appear to move through a neon tube. The animation patterns may be previewed on the computer. The resulting sign layouts can be printed for sign fabricators, and the animation control data can be saved to the client's neon controller hardware for deployment.

Developed for Gilderfluke & Co. of Burbank, California, PCMACS is a motion animation system used in the creation of movements for motorized live-action figures. Gilderfluke's control electronics, along with Art & Logic's software, have been used to create animated shows that are viewed daily by hundreds of thousands of visitors to major theme parks including Knott's Berry Farm, the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, Bullwinkles Family Fun Center, and Universal Studios.

Art & Logic was hired by Verance to port the original Mac OS version of the ConfirMedia application to Windows, and later to a native Cocoa application for Mac OS X, by creating a multi-platform unified code base. Verance also hired Art & Logic to develop a Windows Mobile version of ConfirMedia. ConfirMedia is an innovative audio watermarking solution designed to protect, manage, and monitor audio content, including broadcast monitoring and verification, copy protection, and content management.

We implemented the Macintosh version of eMusic Download Manager based on Carbon so that it runs natively on both Mac OS X and Mac OS 9. The self-updating download manager is used to download music files from eMusic.com, parse XML metadata, and perform EMP file decryption.
Comprehensive Control Systems makes a line of copier control touch screen products for metering, monetizing, and controlling access to copiers. Industries served include law, accounting, financial, and educational institutions. When they decided to expand their products to network printers, they hired Art & Logic to develop a Windows service to intercept and hold incoming print jobs, collect pertinent information about each job, store the gathered information in a database, and then process or cancel the job depending on business logic provided by another service.

Using Dev-Audio's unique multi-person microphone array technology, Microcone automatically tracks and enhances each voice and applies adaptive background noise reduction. Art & Logic consulted with Dev-Audio's development team to assist in writing Microcone's kernel-level audio device driver for Mac OS X versions 10.7+ and Windows XP through 7. The device is available through Amazon in the US and the Apple Store in the EU.
