Google hired Art & Logic to develop a catalog of promotional products they offer to companies to assist them in gaining visibility at Google Places. The products all feature the Places Push Pin image. A dynamic HTML5 front end featuring sliding page transitions was used to deliver a catalog experience to the user. The application includes a shopping cart-like feature for selecting and submitting a request for materials.

Motorola's SURFboard wireless cable modem incorporates gateway, firewall, VPN, and WEP security features. Skycomp wanted to replace the need to print out 1000's of traffic survey pictures so that "counters" could scan through the pictures and count vehicles, marking each picture with a grease pencil. A flash application was built to load the images in a viewer area with marking tools to replace the grease pencil. Different types of vehicles were marked with different symbols. Line tools were available to mark the stop and end of each count region. Comments could be assigned to each picture. more...

A thumbnail strip was available across the bottom of the screen to easily navigate to a specific image. All annotations were stored in a file that could be emailed back to Skycomp, enabling them to outsource the counting effort. The annotation file could be copied into a directory containing the same survey images, enabling a Skycomp administrator to replicate the results entered by the offsite "counter".

Vantage Point Media hired Art & Logic to create an interactive Flash application to allow visitors to their site configure the Evo Wall System product. The Evo Wall System consists of mounting hardware, horizontal and vertical mounting rails, decorative tiles, shelves, white boards, chalk boards, and numerous other options to be released to market. WallCustomizer is a Flash application with a sliding list of Evo System components represented as thumbnail images. User select a tiles which are placed on the wall by the application. Colors, wood grains, textures, etc can be selected by the user. Components may be dragged from a sliding list and placed on the grid. In addition to the Evo System components users can also select items such as flat panel TVs, DVD players, speakers, etc. and place them on the wall grid. When satisfied they can save the design and print out a shopping list of components required to construct the layout. In addition to the Flash front end, A&L also produced a web admin interface for maintaining the components in a MySQL database that were accessible to the Flash application.

For example, players could decide to raise taxes or cut emergency services in an attempt to balance the budget. A separate offline application was developed for importing XML content into the backend database. iloli™ applications have delivered millions of online assessments to hundreds of thousands of primary and secondary school students in the United States. The iloli framework implements Harcourt's HSPOA and READS product lines. Following the completion of the original application for Harcourt Interactive Technology (HIT), the Harcourt Education and Measurement (HEM) group hired Art & Logic to modify the original application for use with their testing products. Unlike HSPOA and READS, which are assessment practice tools, the SDRT/SDMT product is a "high stakes" test administered to students in Kindergarten through 12th grade.

iTrain is a website that sells downloadable music for workouts. Art & Logic was responsible for all aspects of the project, including user interface design, layout, and construction; administrative tools, setting up e-commerce, testing, and project management. Most of the user interface is done in Flash. The server-side code is PHP/MySQL. There are multiple servers, with load balancing. You'll need to register to get a password to log into the site. The original codebase, including the Art & Logic Advanced JavaScript Control Suite and some tricky searching, sorting, and filtering software, has sped development of the rest of Redback's product line. Because of the complexity of the SMS products they became a showcase of embedded internet capabilities. Recognizing that their in-house web design team might not have the specialized experience for device management, a Hewlett Packard division based in Spain asked Art & Logic to create the management interface for the DesignJet 5000. The final product features dynamic ink level monitoring and print job status (using proprietary lightweight JavaScript code), printer configuration, design integration with the DesignJet support web site, and internationalization of the user interface for six languages.

Declarations Form Entry System

Art & Logic created a service that lets parts makers complete the complex IPX1752 reporting form, that previously required hundreds of cells to be completed individually in forms declaring all the parts and materials in all forms of electronics. TurboGears Web application for delivering entertaining messages by phone

Art & Logic was hired to realize the client's vision of a fun web app for sending prerecorded messages by phone. This included professionally produced messages on a variety of themes, such as "you're a terrible boss", "my team beat your team", and "I'm sorry". The system allowed the administrator to customize the content, and the user to manage their orders in detail.

Conference Organizer for Mobile Web

The Canadian Tax Foundation hired Art & Logic to make their conference schedules and presentations available to attendees on their mobile devices. Leveraging the principles of Responsive Design, we created a contemporary UI that met CTF's communication goals while dynamically adapting itself to the broad spectrum of device dimensions, resolutions, and usage patterns. The attendee experience was backed by a node.js server running a custom Content Management System (CMS), allowing CTF to customize the site's contents for each of the many conferences it hosts every year.

Custom Drape Designer is a web site for configuring custom window treatments. Art & Logic built the component that lets users select from hundreds of fabric patterns to create personalized drapes for their homes. Real-time image updates give immediate feedback about how the final product will look as the user makes choices in the software.

Medical Record Request Tracking System Ensures Confidence and Accountability

MedExpress is a fast-growing company managing patient medical records for an increasing number of clients extending across multiple states in the US. In addition to collecting and storing patient medical records, MedExpress handles requests from patients or their representatives for copies of personal healthcare documents. MedExpress is a fast-growing company managing patient medical records for an increasing number of clients extending across multiple states in the US. In addition to collecting and storing patient medical records, MedExpress handles requests from patients or their representatives for copies of personal healthcare documents. Before engaging Art & Logic, they struggled with the ability to track these requests. It is particularly important for them to be able to produce reports which indicate clearly a complete audit trail of a request from start to fulfillment. This report must also indicate exactly what personal healthcare documents had been delivered to the requester. MedExpress engaged Art & Logic to develop for them a web-based application, written in PHP and leveraging the Yii framework. This application will be used by multiple groups of users within the MedExpress organization to enter and then procress a request through the required workflow. Authentication is provided through an interface to the organizations LDAP system. Email notifications, using customizable templates are used to alert employees when a request has changed status, and needs some attention. The application allows for the upload and storage of scanned medical documents as well as the initial requests and any supporting documentation. Security levels ensure that only the appropriately authorized individuals have access to sensitive medical information throughout the process. The system assists in the generation of invoices and the tracking of those invoices and payments. In addition the system provides a feature which tracks attempts by workers to contact the initial requester for additional information if required. Once the requested healthcare documents have been gathered the system tracks the delivery method and confirmation of delivery. A report can be generated which details the particulars of an individual request as well as a listing of the documents that were delivered to the requester.

Daily Deals with proceeds going to charities

Social Goodies LLC hired us to build a Ruby on Rails site to provide daily deals (similar to Groupon) where portions of the proceeds went to a charity of the purchaser's choosing. Social Goodies eventually sold the site to www.recoup.com.
