The project involved close interaction with the OS vendor (ISI) because Art & Logic engineers were pushing their pSOS C++ compiler farther than anyone had before. Art & Logic created an HTML tagging language, wrote the embedded code to implement it, and coded the HTML files to use the new language. The custom tagging created a foundation for easy feature changes and faster new product development - a departure from previous brute-force implementations. The technique also substantially reduced code line count, which reduced defects. The resulting system was not only solid, but had substantial features, such as session management, security, and user account management.
