Art & Logic developed a suite of web applications that provides Harcourt's Reading and Math Assessment Tests to elementary school students across the country via the internet. The applications enable school superintendents to create Teacher accounts, who in turn can create Student accounts, create classroom groups, assign tests to students either as a group or as part of their individual development plans. Students log onto the system, take tests, and view test results instantaneously. Teachers and Supervisors can view reports to gauge how students are performing against state benchmarks. A separate offline application was developed for importing XML content into the backend database. iloli™ applications have delivered millions of online assessments to hundreds of thousands of primary and secondary school students in the United States.
The iloli framework implements Harcourt's HSPOA and READS product lines. Following the completion of the original application for Harcourt Interactive Technology (HIT), the Harcourt Education and Measurement (HEM) group hired Art & Logic to modify the original application for use with their testing products. Unlike HSPOA and READS, which are assessment practice tools, the SDRT/SDMT product is a "high stakes" test administered to students in Kindergarten through 12th grade.
