iPad Application for ACCA Duct Sizing Calculator

Art & Logic was hired by the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) to create an iPad version of their Duct Sizing Calculator device. The application consists of high-resolution scanned images of both sides of the calculator device which are implemented as stacked images that can rotate over the top of one another so that the user can interact with the calculator via iPad gestures in exactly the same way as they would use the analog version of the device.

The dialogs went beyond simply picking files and allowed users to manually or automatically create regions, lay out the samples or regions on the keyboard, and preview their work. This project had Art & Logic tightly integrating into E-MU's development environment using a VPN for direct access to their CVS archives while working directly with E-MU engineers on common code. E-MU Systems later hired Art & Logic to write the E-MU Xboard control software, a Mac OS X desktop application that provides total control of the E-MU Xboard USB/MIDI Controller. more...

Music in Education™ for Yamaha

"The philosophy of the Music In Education program is singular in purpose: to create a classroom music program that provides a contemporary focus to the musical and curricular traditions of the general music classroom." Art & Logic was hired by Yamaha to port the Windows version of Music in Education™ to a native Cocoa application for Mac OS X. The MIE system includes 16 MIE keyboards linked with MIDI to the MIE software running on a G4 Macintosh computer. The software provides a hands-on learning experience for students while freeing the instructor to move among the students while accessing accompaniments and music samples via a wireless remote control system.

Art & Logic used XML and XSLT technologies to create dynamic dialogs that system administrators can easily configure on the server. A&L created scripts to parse throught ESPN's mobile content and convert it to the MallTV matrix format, now called MallMobi. In order to maintain capatibility with the Blackberry, iPhone, and Treo, text was converted to images for the interface because it was discovered that not all devices support all font sizes. Separate versions were created iPhone, and MobilePC/Blackberry/Treo.

Pickup Lines on Your iPhone

Wingman is an iPhone app that generates pickup lines based on user input for several categories (Face/Body/Intelligence, etc). The application selects a pickup line based on the point value of each of the user selections. The Lite version randomizes the selections, not allowing user choice. In the full version, the user can take a photo or choose an image from their photo library to replace the "girl" image on the pickup line screen.

This work has been featured in write ups from the New York Times to the Houston Chronicle, and we are very proud to have been a part of the work and have such a strong relationship with the client, iGlobe, even today. Art & Logic was hired to build an application for iOS and Mac that can display a realtime rendering of Earth with the ability to layer streaming weather data layer (this rendering is displayed on a 3D spherical screen)--basically an amazing 3D view of Earth built from scratch that does real-time visualization of the earth with overlays from various agencies. The application on the Mac is then controlled by an iPad an app that Art & Logic coded as well.
