Affiliated vendors offer substantial discounts on products and services in exchange for a guaranteed bulk sale. Users can select their target region and view the deal of the day for that area. Art & Logic was hired to develop Sieze the Deal, a website that delivers regional targeted marketing to users in the form of a "deal of the day". Affiliated vendors offer substantial discounts on products and services in exchange for a guaranteed bulk sale. Users can select their target region and view the deal of the day for that area. They are encouraged to purchase the deal of the day and spread news about it to social networking websites in order to encourage more people to make purchases. A minimum number of purchases is required in order for the deal of the day to be accepted. Art & Logic also developed the administrative back-end, which allows maintaining the bargains by area, user account information, and more. The web application is built with Ruby on Rails, with a MySQL database backend.

Mobile Movie Showtimes

Terry Hines & Associates hired us to create applications for viewing local movie showtimes. We began by designing an SMS based search tool, to be used as a part of our client's motion picture marketing campaigns. After the initial phase we developed a website and a mobile WAP site, which serve as entertainment resource gateways. After the initial phase we developed a website and a mobile WAP site, which serve as entertainment resource gateways. We also developed an SMS subscriber list management tool, and a number of web services and Flash/HTML widgets that can be embedded in other sites. More recently, we created an iPhone version of the WAP site, where users can look up movie showtimes, view entertainment news and gossip, or information about the films themselves. We have also added a feature where SMS or Flash requests can triggered a return voice message, and added an online community to the WAP site.

MallTV, LLC hired Art & Logic to translate their MallTV WAP application for use on iPhones. Since Safari on the iPhone does not support Flash, the implementation uses Javascript although the resulting interface looks and behaves just like the Flash version. MallTV is a portal for cell phones and television and links users to popular third-party third-party websites. A&L created scripts to parse throught ESPN's mobile content and convert it to the MallTV matrix format, now called MallMobi. A&L created scripts to parse throught ESPN's mobile content and convert it to the MallTV matrix format, now called MallMobi. The ESPNMall pages are updated every 30 minutes and cached on the MallTV server. The Matrix is dyamically created depending on the number of links found on each ESPN page that are associated with numbered keys on the phone. In order to maintain capatibility with the Blackberry, iPhone, and Treo, text was converted to images for the interface because it was discovered that not all devices support all font sizes. Separate versions were created iPhone, and MobilePC/Blackberry/Treo.

Their team can upload raw sales data, fixing problems and inconsistencies, and then their sales personnel across the country can log into the Coke portal and run a variety of detailed reports on the data. The users can download the reports in Excel format, including graphs.
