iPad Application for ACCA Duct Sizing Calculator

The application consists of high-resolution scanned images of both sides of the calculator device which are implemented as stacked images that can rotate over the top of one another so that the user can interact with the calculator via iPad gestures in exactly the same way as they would use the analog version of the device.

A Simple App Solves A Big Problem

Researchers who present posters at scientific or medical symposia often have to create hundreds of scaled-down, hard-to-read printouts of their poster for handing out at the session. Dark Scorpion's Poster Commander is a less expensive and "green" alternative to poster handouts, and allows a researcher to transmit, using the iPhone's Bluetooth capability, an electronic file (PDF) of the poster from his or her iPhone to the iPhones of attendees who also have this app. Through the "Statistics" screen, poster presenters can keep track of how many times each poster is downloaded and, if selected, the contact information of the person who downloaded the application.

A&L created scripts to parse throught ESPN's mobile content and convert it to the MallTV matrix format, now called MallMobi. The Matrix is dyamically created depending on the number of links found on each ESPN page that are associated with numbered keys on the phone. In order to maintain capatibility with the Blackberry, iPhone, and Treo, text was converted to images for the interface because it was discovered that not all devices support all font sizes. Separate versions were created iPhone, and MobilePC/Blackberry/Treo.

The PasturePool native iPhone application allows PasturePool subscribers to record their golf rounds while offline, and then upload them to the PasturePool.com website where they are available for reporting and analysis. The application features course search, course database update, and both summary and detailed golf round entry. The detail entry mode features an 18-hole scorecard that lets the golfer enter hole-by-hole scores, statistics and notes. Users can call a selected golf course and load a Google map of the course in an embedded browser. An iPhone-optimized version of the online web application is also available in an embedded browser in case the golfer wants to enter his/her round data directly to the PasturePool.com website.

Conference Organizer for Mobile Web

The Canadian Tax Foundation hired Art & Logic to make their conference schedules and presentations available to attendees on their mobile devices. Leveraging the principles of Responsive Design, we created a contemporary UI that met CTF's communication goals while dynamically adapting itself to the broad spectrum of device dimensions, resolutions, and usage patterns. The attendee experience was backed by a node.js server running a custom Content Management System (CMS), allowing CTF to customize the site's contents for each of the many conferences it hosts every year.

This iOS application displays images of various crop plants, common deficiencies and provides guideline for rectifying them.
