Dave Mustaine: Guitar Prodigy

The Way of H hired Art & Logic to develop new features for their flagship app Rock Prodigy and their new release Dave Mustaine: Guitar Prodigy. The project was to make these iOS apps more useful and easier to use with specific attention to new and important functions which allow the user to adjust the tempo of playback and loop certain sections of a song for focused practice. Academy Award for Technical Achievement

The ADE system, developed for Soundelux in Hollywood, California, combines software application and interface electronics to help film sound editors bridge the gap between traditional movieola editing and digital editing. ADE automatically generates a list of edits on the computer by reading the physical cuts on the film stock. The device improves the accuracy of the initial edits and reduces labor by many hours for a typical feature film.

We have also added a feature where SMS or Flash requests can triggered a return voice message, and added an online community to the WAP site.

RFID Scanning Solution for Manufacturer of Theatrical Lighting Equipment

Wybron, Inc. hired Art & Logic to develop an RFID scanning solution to enhance product manufacturing processes at their Colorado Springs plant. The application was written in Java and deployed on Mac OS X. Phillips RFID tags are attached to theatrical gels. The application encodes information about the sequence of colors on the strings and allows personnel to track the product through to shipment.

Neon Sign Design and Animation Control Software for Fluid Light Technologies

Art & Logic created both Windows and Mac OS versions of "NeonCAD". Users can design arbitrarily complex neon signs using the CAD tools provided, and animate those signs using the client's proprietary neon control technology that allows light to appear to move through a neon tube. The animation patterns may be previewed on the computer. The resulting sign layouts can be printed for sign fabricators, and the animation control data can be saved to the client's neon controller hardware for deployment.

Motion Animation for Theme Parks

Developed for Gilderfluke & Co. of Burbank, California, PCMACS is a motion animation system used in the creation of movements for motorized live-action figures. Gilderfluke's control electronics, along with Art & Logic's software, have been used to create animated shows that are viewed daily by hundreds of thousands of visitors to major theme parks including Knott's Berry Farm, the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, Bullwinkles Family Fun Center, and Universal Studios.

Since Safari on the iPhone does not support Flash, the implementation uses Javascript although the resulting interface looks and behaves just like the Flash version. MallTV is a portal for cell phones and television and links users to popular third-party third-party websites. A&L created scripts to parse throught ESPN's mobile content and convert it to the MallTV matrix format, now called MallMobi. The ESPNMall pages are updated every 30 minutes and cached on the MallTV server. The Matrix is dyamically created depending on the number of links found on each ESPN page that are associated with numbered keys on the phone. In order to maintain capatibility with the Blackberry, iPhone, and Treo, text was converted to images for the interface because it was discovered that not all devices support all font sizes. Separate versions were created iPhone, and MobilePC/Blackberry/Treo.

The app inspires vocabularies that uplift, surprise, and teach using positive words. Users can play with spelling, anagrams, and acronyms. They can send cards to others, post words to friends' facebook pages, or shuffle and shake the alphabet deck for random, delightful letter/word combinations.

Pickup Lines on Your iPhone

Wingman is an iPhone app that generates pickup lines based on user input for several categories (Face/Body/Intelligence, etc). The application selects a pickup line based on the point value of each of the user selections. The Lite version randomizes the selections, not allowing user choice. In the full version, the user can take a photo or choose an image from their photo library to replace the "girl" image on the pickup line screen.

Designated Driver iPhone App

NeoWave Institute hired Art & Logic to develop one of the first socially responsible iPhone apps to allow a user to reach out to family, friends or a cab to request a ride when a designated driver becomes necessary. A user can configure Designated Driver to send messages to up to 5 recipients. Each message includes a call back number and a Google Map link to the user's location. Alternatively, the user can click a button to contact a national taxi service to request a taxi if friends are not available or not willing to come get them.

PasturePool.com enables golfers to track their golf scores, handicap, greens in regulation, putts, up/down percentage, and more. The PasturePool native iPhone application allows PasturePool subscribers to record their golf rounds while offline, and then upload them to the PasturePool.com website where they are available for reporting and analysis. The detail entry mode features an 18-hole scorecard that lets the golfer enter hole-by-hole scores, statistics and notes. Users can call a selected golf course and load a Google map of the course in an embedded browser. An iPhone-optimized version of the online web application is also available in an embedded browser in case the golfer wants to enter his/her round data directly to the PasturePool.com website.

TurboGears Web application for delivering entertaining messages by phone

Art & Logic was hired to realize the client's vision of a fun web app for sending prerecorded messages by phone. This included professionally produced messages on a variety of themes, such as "you're a terrible boss", "my team beat your team", and "I'm sorry". The system allowed the administrator to customize the content, and the user to manage their orders in detail.
