Beat Kangz Electronics hired Art & Logic to create the firmware for the Beat Thang, a new groovebox aimed at the hip hop market. The project also includes a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) plugin for Mac OS X and Windows called the Beat Thang Virtual. It is available at Sam Ash, Guitar Center, and online.

Motorola's SURFboard wireless cable modem incorporates gateway, firewall, VPN, and WEP security features. Art & Logic developed an API which allowed cable service providers to customize the interface at runtime, selectively hiding and showing content and changing fields to read/write or read-only. The interface was integrated with a customized version of the GoAhead Webserver and Art & Logic's own Device Management Framework.

When ROLAND® decided to add a third-party plugin architecture to their popular V-STUDIOS™ digital audio workstations, they called Art & Logic for assistance. Through a partnership between the two companies, Art & Logic consulted with ROLAND engineers developing the VS8F-3 expansion card, and created a Software Development Kit (SDK) to be used by third-party developers of audio effects plugins. Art & Logic played a critical role in all phases of this project. more...
Ensemble is a pioneer in Broadband Wireless Access. Art & Logic created the web-based interface for Ensemble's Network Management System. The interface features many dynamic elements including a view of the base station, showing the real-time positions of cards and LED's. Sophisticated JavaScript and HTML coding techniques were used to develop this dynamic user experience.

Israel-based Kagoor Networks hired Art & Logic to create the embedded web interface for their VoiceFlow 1000 voice-over-IP accelerator. Using the GoAhead WebServer and an early version of the Art & Logic Device Manage Framework, Art & Logic was able to develop a highly interactive interface, including real-time scrolling graphs, in only 116K of memory.
DSL technology enables high-speed data communication over existing copper wires. The DSLAM (DSL access multiplexer) is the critical component in the DSL provider's central office. Art & Logic created the user interface through which the DSL provider monitors and configures DSL circuits. Art & Logic also worked with Rapid Logic to develop a generic SNMP/HTTP adapter on the server side.

MUSICAM USA, an industry leader in audio transmission over data links, was ready to implement the internet capabilities designed into their TEAM product line. Time to market was short, so they drew on Art & Logic's internet audio and networking expertise to complement their internal resources. First there were many requirements gathering and architecture planning sessions involving MUSICAM USA and Art & Logic engineers. The project plan was then carried out by Art & Logic. This plan included updating the product's VxWorks board support package to the current Tornado version, developing a companion Windows NT service for Windows Media capabilities, and adding Ethernet audio streaming from the product's internal TDM system.

Redback Networks had developed one of the most sophisticated networking products ever, the SMS 1000 multi-protocol virtual router/switch/bridge. Now it needed a configuration and management interface that network providers could actually use. Having heard through about the work that Art & Logic was doing for other networking product companies, Redback hired Art & Logic to create the SMS 1000 product's management interface. Since then Redback has grown from a startup into a highly respected public company, while continuing to work with Art & Logic on several new products. more...

Before Bay Networks was acquired by Nortel in 1998 their in-house team experimented with developing a web-based management system for their System 5000. They concluded that the project was quite different from a traditional web design project. When they searched for an outside team with the right specialization Art & Logic got the call. Starting with the in-progress system, Art & Logic added the Advanced JavaScript Control Suite, giving the interface cross-browser compatibility and a palette of controls suited to device management. Nortel requested graphics and usability enhancements. more...

In 1996, managing a networking device with a web browser was almost unheard of. Sonoma Systems, later acquired by Nortel, chose Art & Logic for our strong object-oriented capabilities. The embedded solution created by Art & Logic "solved the problem behind the problem," in the words of the client. The project involved close interaction with the OS vendor (ISI) because Art & Logic engineers were pushing their pSOS C++ compiler farther than anyone had before. Art & Logic created an HTML tagging language, wrote the embedded code to implement it, and coded the HTML files to use the new language. more...

Balboa wanted to optimize their PIC-18-based spa control system for testability and improve quality while decreasing maintenance time. Art & Logic performed a review of the old code, extracted important segments and design structures that represented a large investment for Balboa, then restructured the design to meet the new goals. Art & Logic also implemented the new code for both the PIC system and a Windows-based simulator that allows testing the timing of system events at 5-times normal speed.

TeraBeam uses laser technology to provide last-mile broadband solutions. Art & Logic developed the web interface using a simulated back-end while TeraBeam developed the embedded code.

Allegro Networks' project included several web interfaces. For the first phase of the project Allegro hired Art & Logic to prototype a user interface with an emphasis on interaction design. In the second phase of the project this was translated into a functional user interface, which finally was beautified to create a finished project.
