Dave Mustaine: Guitar Prodigy

The Way of H hired Art & Logic to develop new features for their flagship app Rock Prodigy and their new release Dave Mustaine: Guitar Prodigy. The project was to make these iOS apps more useful and easier to use with specific attention to new and important functions which allow the user to adjust the tempo of playback and loop certain sections of a song for focused practice. The "Beat Thang" Groovebox Software

Beat Kangz Electronics hired Art & Logic to create the firmware for the Beat Thang, a new groovebox aimed at the hip hop market. The project also includes a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) plugin for Mac OS X and Windows called the Beat Thang Virtual. It is available at Sam Ash, Guitar Center, and online.

3Pm Studios hired Art & Logic to develop Henry & Hailey's Preschool Pals, a children's mix-n-match game that became a runaway hit after its debut on the iTunes App Store. Players select a "pal" and listen to them talk about what they like to do. After learning about the character, the child matches the head with the corresponding body and feet. Another variation of the game was released as ABC Alphabet Game for kids with Henry & Hailey. Henry & Hailey's Preschool Pals was nominated for the 2008 Best App Ever Awards.

Beat Kangz Electronics, LLC partnered with Art & Logic to create PlayaThang and PlayaThang Free. PlayaThang offers simple playback of 20 high quality professional beats (3 in the FREE version). Mute, solo and change volume for each of the 8 stereo tracks that make up each beat to create your own remixes on the fly.

SRS Labs hired us to develop an iTunes plug-in so they could bring their WowHd audio processing technology to Mac users. The plug-in (including a free trial version) is available here.

Mac OS Audio Drivers for Echo

Working with Echo Digital Audio Corporation, Art & Logic ported their generic driver framework from Windows NT to Mac OS, created ASIO and OMS drivers, and a console application. Echo is now able to support their entire line of high-quality audio hardware for the Macintosh, including Gina, Darla, Layla, Gina24, Darla24, Layla24, and Mona cards, using a single codebase. Most recently, we have ported this work to Mac OS X, helping Echo to remain on the leading edge of the audio interface world, and assisting them in learning the intricacies of OS X kernel development along the way, in order to allow them to maintain their products in-house.

Audio Recording and Editing Application

Poddio is an audio recording and editing application for iPhone and iPod touch from Vericorder Technology, Inc. The app is a fully integrated professional quality recording studio used by journalists and others in the broadcasting industry. Art & Logic's expertise in iPhone development and in Core Audio were key to the success of this project.

Microcone, a multi-channel microphone for recording and conferencing.

Microcone is an innovative, simple way to capture group conversations. Using Dev-Audio's unique multi-person microphone array technology, Microcone automatically tracks and enhances each voice and applies adaptive background noise reduction. Art & Logic consulted with Dev-Audio's development team to assist in writing Microcone's kernel-level audio device driver for Mac OS X versions 10.7+ and Windows XP through 7. The device is available through Amazon in the US and the Apple Store in the EU.
