Virtual Patchbay Application

Otari hired Art & Logic to develop a virtual patchbay application that controls how pieces of audio equipment communicate over a firewire network. Art & Logic solved a number of difficult design problems including how to quickly display and update the thousands of connection possiblities between multiple audio devices. This software is currently used in real-time production at locations such as television stations and live performance theatres.

NBCUPhotobank.com Delivers Entertainment Images to Media Companies

NBCUPhotobank.com was developed by Art & Logic for Lightbox Network to deliver selected content from NBC's digital asset management application, also developed by Art & Logic for Lightbox Network, to media outlets and publications. Media users can browse or search the site for celebrity images and shows from any NBCU network and register to gain access to high-res content. NBCU admins determine access restrictions for registered users, such as how many images per month a user may download or whether they can use a credit card to purchase licenses.

Internet Streaming Media Capabilities Added to Flagship "TEAM" Product

MUSICAM USA, an industry leader in audio transmission over data links, was ready to implement the internet capabilities designed into their TEAM product line. Time to market was short, so they drew on Art & Logic's internet audio and networking expertise to complement their internal resources. First there were many requirements gathering and architecture planning sessions involving MUSICAM USA and Art & Logic engineers. The project plan was then carried out by Art & Logic. This plan included updating the product's VxWorks board support package to the current Tornado version, developing a companion Windows NT service for Windows Media capabilities, and adding Ethernet audio streaming from the product's internal TDM system.

Audio Recording and Editing Application

Poddio is an audio recording and editing application for iPhone and iPod touch from Vericorder Technology, Inc. The app is a fully integrated professional quality recording studio used by journalists and others in the broadcasting industry. Art & Logic's expertise in iPhone development and in Core Audio were key to the success of this project.

Web portal for mobile devices

MallTV, LLC hired Art & Logic to translate their MallTV WAP application for use on iPhones. Since Safari on the iPhone does not support Flash, the implementation uses Javascript although the resulting interface looks and behaves just like the Flash version. MallTV is a portal for cell phones and television and links users to popular third-party third-party websites. A&L created scripts to parse throught ESPN's mobile content and convert it to the MallTV matrix format, now called MallMobi. A&L created scripts to parse throught ESPN's mobile content and convert it to the MallTV matrix format, now called MallMobi. The ESPNMall pages are updated every 30 minutes and cached on the MallTV server. The Matrix is dyamically created depending on the number of links found on each ESPN page that are associated with numbered keys on the phone. In order to maintain capatibility with the Blackberry, iPhone, and Treo, text was converted to images for the interface because it was discovered that not all devices support all font sizes. Separate versions were created iPhone, and MobilePC/Blackberry/Treo.

Web-based Management System

Art & Logic created the web-based interface for Logic Innovations' TSM-1000 MPEG multiplexer, which combines multiple MPEG input streams into one output stream. For the heart of this interface, Art & Logic created a fully-featured dynamic tree control in a Java applet. The tree control was maintained with real-time data using a custom XML protocol.
